In an effort to provide St. Lucie Public School students academic support this summer, several programs funded by the Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County will open their doors on Saturdays beginning July 11.

The programs participating in Rising Star Saturdays will offer access to computers, opportunities for self-guided learning and/or credit retrieval all while following CDC guidelines for safety and cleanliness. There are also incentives for attendance in the program. Students who attend will earn a backpack full of school supplies from United Way of St. Lucie County, the program’s other sponsor. Also, children’ who attend two or more weeks will be entered to win a 50” Smart TV.

Participating locations include: Garden Terrace, Ken Pruitt and Percy Peek locations of the Boys & Girls Club, Lincoln Park Community Center, SWORD Outreach & Mentoring Center and E.N.D. IT will be open to middle and high school students for credit retrieval. Hours vary and each location is responsible for handling their own registration. Contact information for each program is available at www.cscslc.org/risingstarsaturdays
