Our Response to COVID-19

COVID newsflash

As local families are affected by the COVID-19 crisis, so too are the non-profit organizations to who serve those families. We are working closely with our funded program partners to ensure that they are able to continue providing services to residents as best they can. Here are some of the ways we are working to do that.

  • Along with Allegany Franciscan Ministries, the Community Foundation Martin – St. Lucie, and United Way of St. Lucie County, we are working as a consortium to manage a coordinated application process for local organizations seeking support with coronavirus relief. Funding priorities established by the group include: emergency food, shelter and other basic needs; expansion of service capacity related to increased demand for direct services; access to health care services for uninsured and under-insured clients; and technology or other resources to allow agencies to continue providing service. Announcements about funding can be found here in our News Releases.
  • We are working with our funded program providers to identify which services they are able to provide in coordination with CDC guidelines and/or helping provide them the tools they need to continue serving clients if in a different capacity.
  • We are also working in collaboration with the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce to support locally owned businesses and non-profit organizations through the Small Business. BIG Challenge. Through this program, we are making a donation equal to the revenue of a selected business on a given day to one of our funded program partners. For more information on upcoming challenge days, find our schedule here.
  • We are also trying to compile a list of local/state/federal resources for families to access should they need additional support. Those resources can be found on our website here.
