Attention all dads, step-dads, grandads, adoptive dads, permanent guardians, and father figures! We invite you to join More Than a Game - Season IV, our free fatherhood support initiative that intersects sport, fathering discussions, and local resource awareness - plus free gym time to play basketball. This is not just a game - it's a chance to make a difference in your life and those around you.
Hosted at the city of Fort Pierce Recreation Center, located at 903 S 21st St, the gym will be open every Tuesday from 5:30PM to 9:00PM for 10 weeks, starting from March 12 and ending on May 21. This season, we have the capacity to accommodate up to 45 players. We urge you to secure your spot as soon as possible by registering at www.cscslc.org as spots tend to fill up rapidly.
This initiative is more than just an open gym. It's an environment conducive to open discussions about fathering and its challenges. We aim to provide a supportive platform for fathers and father figures to discuss, share, and learn from each other's experiences. So, while you're shooting hoops and sweating it out, you're also partaking in a larger conversation that celebrates fatherhood and its nuances.
But that's not all! An integral part of our open gym sessions is the opportunity to learn about local resources. We understand that awareness and access to local resources can significantly impact one's parenting experience. Hence, every session will incorporate information about various local resources that can be beneficial to you, including but not limited to childcare, education, healthcare, and more.
This program is not a standalone effort. It is being hosted in partnership with the Roundtable of St. Lucie County and the Kids at Hope Initiative. This season, we also welcome a new partner, The Inner Truth Project. This partnership strives to bring the best resources, support, and information to our participants, making each open gym session a rich and rewarding experience.
If you have any queries or would like to learn more about our program, feel free to contact John Cesar at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 772-237-1665. Remember, this is more than just a game. It's an opportunity to make connections, learn, grow, and of course, have fun! So, grab your gear, mark your calendars, and get ready to play ball!
We look forward to seeing you at the gym. ALL ARE INVITED!
