Foster Grandparent Program

This intergenerational volunteer program provides valuable aid to children with special and exceptional needs. The Program has a dual purpose – to enhance the lives of children with special needs through a caring relationship and to provide a high-quality experience that enriches the lives of the volunteers and the children they serve.

BBBS Reads

Provides literacy tutoring in a school-based program for VPK through 3rd grade students utilizing AmeriCorps program volunteers. Tutors meet one-on-one with struggling readers at participating schools in three thirty minute sessions each week.

Reading Bigs

Provides literacy tutoring and promotes family literacy through one-on-one reading mentoring for students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd with approved volunteers. Matches meet one hour per week in two thirty minute sessions during the school day at participating schools.

A+ Attendance Support

Reduces absenteeism by working with school staff on identifying and educating families who have children with 5 or more unexcused absences at select local schools.

Early Learning Coalition

Subsidized Child Care Local Match

Provides childcare assistance for qualifying participants at contracted childcare centers and educates parents about the importance of their involvement in their child's learning.

Florida Health

School Nurse Program

Children's Services Council provides funding support for nurse positions in the elementary and middle schools throughout St. Lucie County.

Sunny Smiles Pediatric Oral Health

Provides oral health screenings and education services to over 2,000 Pre K to 2nd-grade children to improve oral health conditions that interfere with school success. The program's dental hygienist works closely with Oral Health Coalition on referrals to obtain additional treatment services.

Help Me Behave

Provides support for parents of children ages 2 to 5 with identified behavior issues. Includes behavioral evaluations, intense family service coordination, and training for families and childcare providers.

Provides a structured, supervised, nurturing environment for youth in grades 4 through 12 who have been suspended from school, taking them off the streets and into a positive learning environment. The program promotes positive behaviors by providing students with the necessary supervision, academic tutoring, mentoring, as well as counseling and family enrichment in a safe, nurturing environment.

Transition Services

The PACE Transition program enables young women to complete their education while helping to promote self-esteem and develop personal, social and family relationship skills. Skills learned help provide young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy.

Kids at Hope

Kids at Hope trains adults to identify talents, skills, goals, dreams, and successes of every child. The belief that "All Children are Capable of Success - No Exceptions!" is incorporated into everyday interactions with children, and becomes the culture of the environment the child is in, whether school, home, recreation, or community.
