Unfortunately,
when children are born they do not come with instruction
manuals detailing what you should do as a parent. We at Children’s
Services Council know that the greatest influence on a
child's life is their parent and are dedicated to providing
opportunities for parents to increase their skills. To
honor this commitment, the Children’s Services Council
offers FREE parenting classes through out the community at
various locations,
including the public libraries.
Below is a list of current parenting classes offered.
Check back often as classes will be updated throughout the year.
Registration forms must be mailed or faxed to our office, or
submitted via Web-Registration.
Managing and Surviving Parenthood – Toddlers
to Teens-
A highly
interactive 4 week course designed for parents and/or
professionals who work with children of all ages. This
course utilized real life examples to provide skills and
knowledge necessary to survive and thrive during the
adolescent years. The class is provided in a non-threatening
environment and is designed for ALL parents. The course is
based on the work of Glenn Latham, Ed.D., a highly noted
educator, researcher and author.
Classes meet one evening per week for four weeks.

Redirecting Children’s Behavior
- A 5 week course designed for parents and/or professionals who
work with children. The course is based on the work of Rudolph
Dreikurs, M.D., a highly noted therapist, researcher and author
of
Children: The Challenge.
Classes meet one evening per week for five weeks - a
workbook and reference book are included.
