The
Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County funds
programs that meet our mission: "to improve the
quality of life for all children in St. Lucie County."
The CSC's funding priorities are intended to reduce
the risk factors identified by the Community
Comprehensive Strategy “St. Lucie Hand in Hand.” The
5 priority risk factors identified have been shown by
research to significantly contribute to unhealthy
behaviors and increase in juvenile crime. These factors
are:
Low Neighborhood Attachment & Community
Disorganization
Poor Family Management
Academic Failure Beginning in Elementary School
Early & Persistent Anti-social Behavior
The funding priorities of the Children’s Services
Council of St. Lucie County are programs that address
the following goals:
Promoting Healthy Families for Babies and Toddlers
by providing prenatal education and programs to provide
for optimal brain functioning by age 3
Promoting School Readiness by providing
enrichment opportunities for all children 3 to 5 years old
Promoting School Success by providing
community-based programs that support and educate parents and
encourage academic achievement for children
Promoting Healthy Lifestyles by providing
community-based programs to strengthen children’s resiliency to
meet the challenges of life by providing programs for both the
physical and mental health of children
The
Children's Services Council funding cycle begins on Oct
1st and ends on September 30th of each year. Our application for
